Like a Deltapoint or similar?

"Night Vision Compatible" is possibly the most useless and overrated feature ever.  ANY optic becomes NV compatible when you turn the brightness way down.

Isn't the Aimpoint T1 NV compatible?

+1 on Vic's reply. Most non-NV compatible RDS are WAY too bright on even their lowest setting for Gen 3 NV. The lowest setting blooms something awful.

Show me how to turn the brightness way down on a Deltapoint then.  I'll wait.

Which red dot do you use with nightvision?

FYI, I am building my wife's first AR for her birthday. I just got the Primary Arms latest Advanced Micro Dot (MD-AD) which is advertised as having 2 NOD settings.

I love the sight ... but the lowest NOD setting has a very faint red dot I can see clearly in a well lit indoor room .....................

I also have an EXPS 3 - when it's in NOD mode, you can't see anything in pitch black conditions.

I would recommend following Vic's advice ... "If you can see it - it is not NOD compatible."

I can show you how to turn the brightness down on a Primary Arms red dot or any other of the Aimpoint clones that use a rotary illumination knob.

Is that by changing the resistors or do you know of another way?

Yeah you just swap out some resistors.

Thanks, always trying to learn new tricks.

The new PA micro dot is listed as NV compatible, but the lowest nv setting on their first NV compatible optic is still visible to my naked eye. It's REALLY dim, but I can still see it. I can't really used it much with my PVS, so I can't tell you how bright it is - I only ever used it to zero my IR laser.

Yes, the RM-06 when adjust to the lowest setting worked well.  I should have mentioned which version.  Also, I was working with the auto dimming RMR a few weeks ago while testing the X400V-IRc and was surprised how good the dot appeared with a 14 with virtually no blooming. Granted, I did NOT have the 14 weapon mounted directly behind it a mere inch or two, but my head mounted 14 with a handgun out in front looked pretty darn good.

My RM06 works great with my goggle.

I also use the TM14 on my rifles to get a close "zero" my DBALs without going to the range.  Other than that the goggle stays on my head.

I'll have to double check when I get home, but I'm pretty sure the Insight MRDS has a NOD setting.

Thanks... insight does list this sight as being NV compatible.  Awesome.

I picked up an RMR07 has anyone tried it? it's the 6.5 moa I was afraid of blooming but most reviews seemed to lean towards the larger dot for acquisition, but there weren't many NV reviews.

I may have to do some trading, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

I'm going to try to find the time to test my Deltapoint though the NOD tonight, see if it blooms badly.

Apparently the new T1 "clone" from Primary Arms has NV settings.  Looks like it would be excellent for .22s and other guns you don't want to slap a $500+ optic on...

cj7hawk posted this method a while back for modding cheapo red dots with rotary dials, like the original primary arms or bushnells
http://aunv.blackice.com.au/cgi-bin/nightvision/forum?index=projects&story=reflex

i've tried IR pass filters too. either installed on the nv device or installed behind the red dot.

I use an RM-02 on all of my pistols. It works great under NODs. Tijicon's auto-brightness really works well in all situations. From WL with an X300U, to NOD's, to daily use.
