Can someone make some comments about how the stadiametric range finder works on the IR hunter MK III. I am having my unit upgraded and it's a feature I'm not familiar with nor can find information about. question 1. do the brackets placed top and bottom of the subject give range? 2. If you range a hog in like manner, will it give the correct range? (since the hog is a different height) I know that when you use a milrad scope, you can figure range based upon the subject and know parameters. How does this work on the IRhunter? Thanks. View Quote Hi, it's pretty easy. You basically bracket and adjust the reticle to your targets height and width and the distance is read out on the display. Once you get your update, it's pretty easy to operate. |
|
Ok, so you either bracket horizonal or vertical. Both at the same time though? Hopefully it will come with instructions

|
Once you get the unit, give me a call if you need further directions it's really simple. Once you select it in the menu selection, you use the turrets to bracket. PM sent with my cell if need be.

Several of our customers have asked us for some user manuals with Tirji/IRD scopes, I know delirious1 had some issues getting one direct from Trji. Give us an email and we can provide free of charge.

I called Trijicon and they had IRD/Trijicon in Cali mail me a manual. I had it in less than a week. It's very nice compared to the shitty laminate quick start guide.

Are any of you REAP-IR users having issues with the menu popping up from the recoil jostling the jpystick?

Only issue I have had, is the screen splitting at start up; then not having an image after it is powered up. You can go through the menus and clearly see the menu labels, but the image is not there. I call Trijicon, but still waiting to here back about the issue. I tried restarting many times and it did not help. Started it up again a couple days ago and it was back to "normal", so not sure what is going on there.
If anyone else has had this issue, please chime in. |

Yes, cap closed and full external battery pack. Upon start up, picture on screen is split. Once fully on, the screen is grey static signal, but can still toggle through the menus.

Just got it back yesterday, but they did not say what the issue was. I had even asked in an email I had sent when requesting RMA number.

None at all and it works phenomenal. Granted I've only put 250-300 rounds through it but no signs of erosion yet.

When you buy a Trijicon Hunter MKII does it come with instructions?
Because I have no clue how to work one. Secondly, do you need a special lens cover to use during daytime? Someone said that if you use it without a lens cover during daytime you will ruin it. Thirdly, can you use it as a regular daylight scope without turning the thermal part on? |

Someone said that if you use it without a lens cover during daytime you will ruin it. Not with thermal. This can be said for a regular I^2 Night Vision Scope that it's always ill advised to use one during the day with our without the day cover. Thirdly, can you use it as a regular daylight scope without turning the thermal part on? Not sure what you mean by this? A thermal scope is just that, a dedicated thermal device with no alternate day scope mode. View Quote |

I assume a Trijicon MKII Hunter has an on/off button. Can you just leave it off and look through the glass and shoot like that is what I mean? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

WOW, that is an amazing cat! Look at the paws on her! Please do tell a bit more on your hunt with this one. I am sure I'm not alone wanted to know specifics on this hunt. Nicely done.
Of course, thank you for the order you will love the 60mm, it's my favorite lens size. While I know I have less FOV vs. a 35mm, I truly love the native magnification with the 60mm. |

Vic, After talking with Chip, the decision was narrowed down to the REAP-IR or a Mark III 60 mm for coyotes/wolves out to 100-300 yrds with a AR-15 and/or a AR-10 platform. I live in Idaho, high desert. Considering the mount difference between the two, I went with the Mark III and the La Rue. Placed my order yesterday, and now the wait begins until they get in stock. I hate waiting !!! Seriously tho, as you know, prime time for predators now and I'll be posting pics once I get it and get up and running. You've got a great team there and have earned my business. Thanks Pic of a kitty I called in and shwacked, soon "I' will own the night... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/hisfive/blood.jpg View Quote You're gonna love your Mk III. |
