Man, that quadcopter video is cool. Mine shipped today, I can't wait to get my hands on it. Ordered mine Aug 15, fed ex  tracking # says expected delivery is 8-27. 2 days from Israel to Texas is pretty quick shipping.
Just seen this video of police using the therm app to track criminals.

This interesting video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROsQTe1TDhE was made by Opgal's distributor for Therm-App in France.  Distrame took this video using what looks like a quadcopter.  Frame rate similar to my videos.

Still yet to come across similar test video with Flir One.

I really can't see the F1 being even slightly useful on any remote flyin' machine. It *might* be useful only to spot large heat sources, or buildings, etc, but that's probably about it.

The Therm-App, however, looks perfectly suited for such an application. Also I noticed the Therm-App sensor is 384 x 288px, which is a lineal resolution increase of exactly 20% over 320x240px, or an areal increase of 44% (!!!)

That's very (VERY) impressive on such a low-cost device.

Bravo, Therm-App!

Were these filmed at night or during the day?    Also any chance you could upload some for close work like around windows, refrigerator,  such as trying to find air leaks in a home.    How many different color pallets does this have?

By any chance did you get the 6.8mm wide angle lens or know of any videos where it's being used? I'd like to see what it looks like before ordering as I might just order that too to save on additional shipping at a later date.
ETA: I see that if I add the lens to the order it doubles the shipping to $120 instead to $60 for just the Therm-app so I guess you wouldn't save on shipping afterall. Although I suspect that is a mistake.

I wonder if you could mount the therm app to one of those gps controlled drones and send it up to scout the area for hogs. I would think at about 200', the pigs would put off a nice heat signature. I guess the drone would probably spook the pigs and maybe flush them to you. Might be fun!

Bought one today at the Apple Store. Returned it 15 minutes later when I found out it would not pass-through charge my phone. I use my phone a lot, I charge it all the time in the car and each night. I can't believe you have to take this thing apart to charge your phone.

Galaxy S3 Neo = doesn't work (somehow they say it works.  Maybe because mine is a Neo version)

Video test:

holly shit that's impressive from a small device attached to a cell..wow

On their website it says the frame rate is only 8.7 hz....in the video posted though I am questioning if that is 8.7 hz because it looks way too smooth, more like 25-30 hz.

The frame rate does look impressive, doesn't it? Seeing as how his video was taken from a tall building, I wonder how this would look if you turned on your phone to record and strapped it to a quadcopter. Maybe the frame rate would be adequate as long as you make gentle moves with it.

I received the same message. Mine shipped in 10 days, ordered on 8-15 and it shipped on 8-25. Fed ex tracking says estimated arrival 8-27.
I think the company and or product is relatively new and they are in high demand. The 3 weeks is probably to give them a little wiggle room,
I recently waited for some suppressor and sbr stamps to be processed by the ATF, so 2 or 3 weeks seems like overnight compared to the ATF

I didn't.  But I might order one if Flir refund my lost package.  On the side note, $60 for the delivery of a lens seems kinda expensive.

By the way, anyone know of any handheld thermal monocular with a price that is close to Therm-App?

Hope the paper work has the harmonized tariff info listed correct, you may get billed for import taxes.

Happened to me years back importing some US made NV tubes, they wanted to tax me.

After months of delays I finally got the items without any taxes.

Another player is joining the mobile thermal game for both iPhone and Android, this fall holiday season.  Higher resolution than FLIR One at a lower price point - less than $250.  Company name is Seek Thermal in Santa Barbara CA.

No spec, no nothing yet.  Never heard of this company before.  But the more the merrier.

That's what I suspect, they're checking to see if the device is listed in the appropriate category. Shitty thing is, we have a free trade agreement with Israel and just about anything coming from there is duty free. So it's not like they're going to get any tax out of it, it's just the government being the government and delaying a persons property all while they play a numbers game seeing where an item fits to their piece of paper. I'm hoping that they haven't flagged the company now so that every package coming from them is held up until a determination is made.

Man, you talk about hitting the nail on the head
" />
It's our government being our guberment, and I also hope this does not cause the company to be flagged.
The FDA has seized this package because of it being "misbranded". I have a copy of the letter the FDA sent to fed ex, and as you said, they didn't have it listed in the proper category.
Therm App appears to be a stand up company, they have given me a choice of a full refund or waiting for them to work things out with the authorities. Well this is a no brainer for me, I have plenty of experience with dealing with our gov.....NO THANKS. Supposed to have my refund within 48 hours.
I hope others here get their orders. If not, no worries if you paid with paypal. I have had a few other deals go bad, and paypal has always gave me a prompt refund.
It appears that therm app is going to refund money without paypal being involved. email communication with  therm app is almost immediate if it is during their business hours
Looking forward to seeing further reviews of this product
