[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ok, i give up. where can i find the special battery pack for the Guardian Infrared Beacon?

it looks like two 2032's shrink wrapped together.

I got a few of them (the beacons) from TNVC, but cannot find the batteries on their website or anyone else's for that matter.

I have tried simply stacking two 2032s, and it didn't work. I put a little piece of metal between them, and it didn't work.

I called Adventure Lights directly and they gave me the part number, but then told me that they do not sell directly to consumers, only to their distributers/dealers.

Maybe one of their dealers will start stocking this popular item......hint, hint TNVC.

I dissected the factory battery pack. It is not just two 2032s stacked; they are soldered together via an intermediate piece of metal. My guess is that with the relatively large surface area, not enough contact force is applied by simply stacking. YMMV

just on a side note, this past weekend I dropped two 2032 batteries in for giggles and it worked just fine.

not sure what the difference really is
