All 10160A tubes are thin filmed non gated Omni IV. They are very tough tubes and one of my favorites. Good performance and tough as nails.

The power supply is 1999 and it looks like a repot. I would with great certainty say non gated and Omni III to IV. Most likely Omni III.

They are MX-11769 commercial ITT tubes. Omni IV tubes are known for toughness. They perform well and are durable.

No, 9815 tells me it is a MX-11769 tube with variable gain. The letter after F9815 denotes performance level. In your tubes case it is Omni IV.

With so little data to go on I can't tell you much. With the date I can say it is Omni IV performance. Cant say much else without photos of the tube.

Those numbers don't make any sense. Are you sure you are giving me the numbers off the tube ? I don't care about numbers on the housing. Just give me all the numbers you have off of the tube.

No, you were not doing it wrong. It is just rare I get to see these tubes nowadays and I was stumped for a moment. It is the new Excelis Everest tube. It is gated and uses infrared to adjust the tube instead of the normal pots.

Very nice tube and I would assume perform to Omni VII specs. Tube was made in 2015

Out of an ATN PS-14:

As best I can tell, it's a russian tube, and it looks better than every gen2 I've seen (marked gen2+) but it's absolute garbage compared to the gen3 I was able to look through at the Cola Warrior East 4.

It's so hard to get a decent picture though it with my phone. :/

It is a Russian tube. Russian tubes can be very good or terrible. I don't like Russian tubes but yours seems to be decent ! A good US Gen 3 will beat it pretty easily. Still, they let you see in the dark.

Any help?

Warranty date 05/04
CAD 0119
MX 11769/UV
NSN 5855-01-444-3916
CONTR DAAB07-98-C-J419

ID NO 80063-A3256350
Pigtail is broken off, sent off for evaluation to see if fixable. Curious to find out more about the tube though.

Edit, looked on first page, first post has everything the same except the contract number being different? Omni V, non gated.

Broken pigtail is a easy fix. 50 bucks in parts and a 1/2 hour labor to solder the new one in. It is Omni V. Some tubes were gated and others not under Omni V. I would need the power supply number under the label to tell for sure. Your tech fixing should be able to tell pretty easy.

It is a ITT milspec tube. Your tube being made in 2001 would mean not gated. That contract ended in 2011 which leads me to believe maybe some later tubes were gated. Without digging into the contract details it is hard to know for sure. Which is why I like to know the power supply numbers because I know which power supply's were gated.

But I can´t find anything about it if it´s autogated or not.

Thank you very much. This forum is awesome.

Contract started in 2002 and ended in 2008. It should be not gated but maybe some later tubes were as it overlaps. I would check to hear if it whines when powered up. It looks like a monkey dug the pigtail out of it. Without a closer look all I can tell you. Might be okay as a 10160 tube without a repot.

I looked in the ocular and could read the following

DAAB07-02-C-J009
Mx-11769/uv
CAD 0524
602XXX (I think this was the serial)

This looks like an ITT Omni VI tube made in March 2005. It has manual gain.
How do I know if it's autogated? It makes a light whine when turned on but that may not mean anything.

What month/year did ITT start using autogated power supplies?

And if you scroll up, and compare it to my gen2+ russian tube, you can see how much better it is.

I know it's Omni VII, and ITT. And it's a VERY nice tube.'

ETA: I'm considering moving it to a non-manual gain battery housing, with a single battery to get some weight reduction.

That's a huge difference between your gen 2 and gen 3 tubes. Usually modern gen 2 tubes do a little better against gen 3 than that one. Damn Russians!

If ATN had put larger objective lenses into their PS-14 line, I'm sure that would have been true. The objective lens is tiny compared to the PVS-14.

The military had autogated tubes since 2002 or so. Maybe slightly earlier as I think Omni V was a mixed bag. Possibly some late Omni V tubes were autogated. Civilians did not get AG tubes until 2006/2007. Your tube is gated.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and this is my first post.

I bought an Armasight PVS-14 Gen 2+ C Grade monocular while I was on another field-trip. From what I've read is that on some monoculars, Armasight does use Russian tubes on a lot of their products. I'm just not sure if mine is one of them? Here are a few photos I took to help identify and see the performance on my monocular. There is an emission point I believe in the outer zone but it's really no big issue. It's usually visible under passive conditions.

Possible tube identification. It's hard to tell due to the black marker used.

Russian tubes tend to have labeling on the sides with white. Something in that image looks so Photonis to me, but I might be very wrong.

I have a feeling that is the case as well. After I bought it I continued to do more research and found out practically all GEN 1 is made in Russia now and most newer GEN 2 tubes are made there as well as other European countries.
