Calling the built in IR Illum “anemic” is a massive overstatement. That said, considering what I paid for an all in one unit, I’m very happy with it. The switch is interesting in that the rear button always activates the flashlight head. I’m trying to figure out if it’s programmable to give me both vis laser and vis Illum. |

 Better photographs coming—as many will already know, I’ve been interested in the progression, development, employment, and history of “night fighting guns” for quite a while now, and have collected some interesting pieces over the years, though I’m nowhere near “complete” in this project (and let’s be honest, probably never actually will be ), but I’m thinking about doing a short little series about the evolution of the night fighting carbine in the near future. ~Augee |

I have a RAPTAR and was so disappointment in it that I moved it to a secondary rifle and bought a DBAL-I2 (PEQ-2) and use a separate flashlight. Here is that setup, I don't have a picture handy of the RAPTAR (on an AR-10).
