...Or you could go for the KAC flashlight mount––
It will require the use of a reducer, as the mount is intended for 1" flashlights. I fabbed one from the plastic adapter that is supplied with Viking Tactics plastic flashlight mounts. http://www.atstacticalgear.com/cgi/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=5895 Beware that their customer service sucks, and their estimated shipping times are fiction. |

How well does that hold zero? |

I have the inner ring from a viking tactics flashlight mount sitting on my workbench. I'd thought about this, but was concerned about zero also. |

With the short ranges that I use the thing for, coupled with the less-than-stellar shooting stance from wearing a head-mounted NVD, I have never noticed any loss of zero. Either by impact on target, or from seeing a deviation from that of the optical sight mounted on the rifle.... The Beamshot M1 mount certainly works*, and they are inexpensive. *I have found that tightening down the lock ring thingy causes it to interfere with the fitment between the rail and the mount; requiring some dremel work to remove the offending material. Will probably have to post a pic, as it is difficult to effectively describe. |

Quick pic of a AN/PEQ-4C vs the diode I got off ebay....range is about 25 yards...
I was in a hurry....I'll try to get a pic at 100yards on a flat surface....from projection point and at point of impact to show dot spread. |

Wow, they don't look too different. |

For right now....a rubber band holding it to the side of the other laser.....for playing with....LOL I'm machining a housing for it with POI adjustments....2 parts...aluminum and delron....with stainless steel adjustment screws....it will screw into standard "SureFire" threads. I ordered 10 more diodes just to have on hand....and the parts that I'm making, I may build a cold cast resin mold to reproduce...If it works well I did a burn test....with the laser pictured there....left it on for 20 mins....it was pretty warm....but no noticeable difference in output. I'll be taking pics of assembly as I go. |

Haven't had time to work on it lately....A friend passed a few months ago.....the wife contacted me and asked if I would help sort....grade.....and sell his fire arms collection. No kids....and the rest of the family is not interested.
What a PITA......but....I'm learning my hunting firearms again. |
