Thanks for the pics....do you think you would help if you'd epoxy the 2 pieces together?

I may try to work on mine this weekend.

Thanks again.

I don't think I'll end up adding any epoxy, I like being able to adjust a little. I wear glasses and with my glasses on the adjustment is a little different than with my glasses off.

I think I may take the extra part that plugs into the rhino, and order a couple thumb screws, and make a bridge from aluminum stock, just a flat bar with a monocular hanging off each side, similar to the anvis setups.

The 2 on the right.....the other is factory.

Used Adam Barkers housings....lenses from ebay...AVS-9s....had Adam do the slim lime conversion to the focus rings.

The std PVS-14 on the left has a old junk tube in it....it's got a few dark spots....but the two in the new housings are awesome.

What was the cost to build those?

You can buy just the housing and use with ANVIS or PVS14 optics for $250 or you can buy a complete ready to drop in your tube setup for $675.
abnightvision.com is where you can get more info.

Yup....Adam is a great guy.

I have just over $3200 in all three.....but I built as the pieces showed for the price I was willing to pay....and the first 14 was a gift.

I got 2 AVS-9 objective lenses for $280....I got one of the 30mm eyepieces for $100...and one for $160....

Just gotta look...and be ready to throw the cash if you find it.

Just got the new AKA2 a few days ago, and while it doesn't come back as far as the older AKA2, it is more solid, and comes back further than G24.

Can't stress enough how helpful TNVC has been. Lifetime customer.

Its pretty sexy. I played with it some last night and it is definitely worth the upgrade. The adjustments have a lot more range and thus got the eyepiece even closer to just that perfect spot.

Now I have to call TNVC and get a SOE helmet ballast though. Forgot to order it the other day.

Very ninja! I spy some sim residue...

I found a full sim "bullet" lodged between the helmet and the padding on top from the last time. That would have been an interesting dye job and a heck of a headache.

noticed that last time...chink in the sim armor

Just got this put together, might need to get a more adjustable mount and/or play with the fitment some more. Having a bit of trouble getting the monocular angled down far enough to line up, maybe I got a funny shaped head

Not a big fan of the j arm I have and the attachment points could be improved for less play.

You really need to look into a more modern swing arm setup. The Notoros AKA2 and dual dovetail adapter are amazing and you can position stuff perfectly while locked up solid. It's expensive, but totally worth it, especially if you're currently using $50 worth of USGI gear on a $1K helmet

I was of the understanding the MUM uses PVS-14 accessories. If so, the dual dovetail adapter just screws in where the PVS-14s J-Arm goes

ETA: Guess it doesn't use the arm accessories.
Guy on this page says he tapped the mount for the standard style threads so he could attach it to a camera tripod. Maybe something you could do in order to use a nicer J-Arm?

I'm going to investigate this and give it a try. I'll update this thread when I do.

I called and was told there is only one j arm for the mum. My plan is to purchase an aka2 which comes with a bayonet style adaptor. Also pick up a Wilcox j arm, if I can tap the threads on the mum mount and securely fasten the pvs j arm onto the mum, it might be a slick setup. If that doesn't work the mum mounting point should still work with the standard j arm and I could go to plan b
