I like that paintjob too.
Question for the hive: I have found that some colors which are substantially concealed when viewed through NOD's are quite conspicuous to the naked eye [with enough ambient light available] and vice versa. It seems to be all about [lack of] contrast which appears to be significantly different for the two modes of observation in given surroundings. Has anyone else noticed this? |

hoover, what'd you use for shock cord?
For shock cord I used a piece of Coyote tan 550 cord with all of the small strings in the center removed. Once I had those strings removed I stretched it as much as I could to get it small enough to fit thru and then tied a knot in each end. It's different but it kind of sets them apart from any other pair. Unfortunately I didn't measure exactly how much cord I needed and ended up about 4" short...

Super nice rig Chip; I will never give up the "clickie" M1-IR over my left ear. What sort of BA is that in the background?

Looks good, and thanks for the report. |

I really like the battery module being included in the mount itself because it allows it to be used with any universal bracket style shroud. |

Looks good. What do you use for the patterns and Krylon colors, out of curiosity? Need to paint mine, as it's just green at the moment and stands out a bit.

I used some high speed pieces of printer paper ripped into different patterns for the masks. I just held them in place and sprayed (mostly on the paper). I also used Krylon camo brown and Khaki and OD Green. I also used Krylon camo sand dune for the spots and Skilcraft desert tan for the creamy looking tan. I tried to get it kinda close to multicam as I could with what I had. I need to get some medium brown on it too, but I am out of it and the store doesn't have any. |

Laser devices ITAL HP's . Basically the good half of the DBAL unit. A single IR laser that will defocus into a 6 deg flood for illumination. They are switchable from 1mw to 35mw. VERY nice units. I had never seen them before either.
Lets put it this way, im not looking for peq-2 anymore, these things feel way more solid than the PEQ/PAQ units. Im glad they found me.. Brent |

A week ago I received the same Base Jump helmet from Ops Core, and I've been very pleased because it's much more comfortable than the skater-type bump helmet I had rigged previously.
The Ops-Core Henry is really comfortable and I like it a lot...for $230. But, for $44 the A Alpha Jump Helmet in my pics is just as comfy and functional. I own two with VAS shrouds and love them. Both are excellent choices.

For Bad SVT: I'm glad to see that the Base Jump is starting to ship, How sturdy is the moulded in shroud, does it look like it's going to hold up under use?
BadSVT, what's the tan-colored part on the top of your helmets?
By the loocks of it, the lip should hold up, but I'm not taking any chances so I generally leave the INVG mount on
The clear and brown thing is a V-lite which are available in either red, green, blue or IR. I shoot with a bunch of guys who don't have NV so i want to make sure they know where I am. |
