Far superior, IMHO, for reasons already listed.  Manta's easier to change the battery on... and that's about it.  S&S... "markets" much better, though.

The 4d pads can be bought new off eBay for 57 shipped.

I've had the factory pads, the lux liner and these 4d pads blow all the others out the water.

Any thoughts on the standard vs delux kit though? Looks like the one on eBay is just the standard kit. Also looks like it's $57 + $7 shipping if I'm looking at the same one.

I've got the standard since I run the ops core pads.

As far as the price it should be 57 or best offer and the guy takes 50 plus shipping

Deluxe comes with 2x small pads in both thicknesses. This helps make the best fit if you have an oddly shaped nug like me. I think the deluxe kit is a TNVC exclusive, but I'm not sure it comes with the pad for the Ops-core dial band. Might want to call and check first if you need that.

Anyone else having issues with the Unity Tactical MARK kit with the stock Peltor adapters?

They do not seem to retain the earpieces at all.

Anyone use a petzl strix light on their helmet? I need something to mount on my TW helmet and this seems like a decent option, just not sure what it takes to get it mounted up. I'm really open to other suggestions at this point though. Just need something.

Jeebus, that thing is huge!

A Princeton Tec Switch and some hardcore Velcro would be what I would do. Much more lo-pro, and waaaaay lighter.

Yep, like a week after I got my DTNVG's he made an announcement that was parting ways with them.

As far as I can tell it doesn't look to be anything quality wise as i'd say these things are as robust or moreso than my sentinels.

They slip up/down and out rather easily, I've already broken one of the Peltor sleeves manipulating the adapters. Be careful. I've reinforced the very top opening of the sleeves with zip ties to hopefully prevent them from breaking in the chance that the adapter arms slip back out when rotating back for stowage.

So the adapters need to be rigged so they won't break?

The sleeves on my Peltor Sport Tactical 100 are brittle, I performed the swap at room temperature. The sleeves where the headband steel wires enter on other Peltor headsets such as the COMTAC seem more reinforced, but still plastic.

Take note of the MARK's steel wires, they do not have any characteristics to limit travel:

If the adapters slip out at just the right angle, it'll cause the brittle Peltor sleeves to break at the very top.
P.S. the steel wire from the MARK will hurt if they slip out and catch you in the ear/head. Happened to me when I rotated the ear pro rearwards for stowage.

looking for some help on here... just got my Unity Mark adapters in the mail and hooked them into my Ops Core... a few observations and problems

1) I feel like the retention of the mark adapters isn't all that great. As I believe I read above, they seem to pop out easier than I would prefer on my set of peltor comtacs... do the 3M helmet adapters have more positive retention? Wasn't expecting them to just slip out

2) I had no issues with my Peltors prior to removing the headband and taking them off the stock mount. I put them on my helmet, turned them on, and have a mad amount of feeback in m right earcup... almost like an unshielded wire is getting electronic interference? I cover the mic with my hand and it is a lot lower but still present

3) weirdest issue is I mount and turn on my BNVDs and my right hear cup explodes with buzzing from the autogating buzz from the goggle.

I am certain I didn't break the peltors and didn't cut any wires or anything, just wondering if any of you all have experienced this before or if I should contact 3M and see what they say. Thanks guys!

I would go with the Peltor's at this point, they're about $20 cheaper and proven to work. I was originally hooked on Unity because of the REMORA adaptability, but I seriously don't need to attach every gadget onto my bucket.

Can you steer me toward the best option for attachments with the Howard Leights?

There's not really a "best solution" because nothing is designed for them specifically.

I bought some $7 ARC rail adapters from Amazon, and modified the wires by bending them to match the width of the Howard Leight muffs. I then removed the plastic earmuff clips that came with the rail adapters and replaced them with the HL clips. Then used heat shrink tubing with the internal glue liner to keep a little more tension on them so they don't slip around too much. The result is that I have $60 into helmet-mounted muffs that work pretty well.

Here's some better pictures I just took:

(Don't make fun of my helmet bag, it's a quite stylish beach bag that doesn't scream "tactical gear inside, plz steal.")

I got in the shop and started tearing apart my helmet and some Leights.
Cut the metal band and leads and removed all my helmet rails.

Theres about 1.5" of metal band drilled & double bolted under the rail now.
I rewired and tucked the wires back up. Everything function checks and fits tight with no movement.

I think it came out pretty clean.

The only thing I did notice is the chin strap bands do tend to get inbetween the muff and my ear a little.
They are flat against my face so it's not really effecting much.

How do you guys get around this?

Was running this for a bit this last week. Nightcap with a cheap 3-hole mount, G24 and Mod-3Bs w/ the FPRS and playing around with a DRMO 3x magnifier. The high-power DBALs are hawt. Obviously makes you wanna puke if you walk around with the magnifier on your face...
