Good question! These forums were named before the EE, but you're right. It could also be renamed General Title II.

Forums were not created all at once, and long before most knew Class III was a silly reference. Just be happy it is not called "Class III Licensees"

There have been a few URL mod_rewrite changes to the site over the year - presumably to help SEO - but I don't recall the board or sub-board name ever being in the URL.  Even if that were ever the case, the broken links it created, if any, would probably be minimal.  

Wouldn't changing the name now be pretty trivial w.r.t. the site backend and beneficial for clearing up terminology for the peanut gallery?

It is just one of those things that drive me nuts and it is a very Fudd thing where I am. People ask me if I have my "Class 3" for various things. I often say no, you should call the ATF. Would you like the number to the local office? I even saw an 07 who was calling himself a "class 3 manufacturer". I can't help but wonder what he is putting on Form 3 and 4 for is info. I would simply like to see the "Class 3" ignorance stop. We have to start somewhere. I try to educate at every opportunity.
