Waiting on a 1/9 myself. Thing was ordered 12/8/2015. Not too happy about it to say the least.

I purchased a can from silencer shop on 11/3/15. The form 3 was approved on 12/15/15. No telling when the form 4 will be approved. I have a form 1 that is over 6 months right now. They are fucking people with Trusts as much as they can. The last can I bought took only three months before I had the Form 4 and can in hand

It all depends. Some of ours are taking 2-3 weeks to get into the system, while on the other hand we had one submitted 3/15, entered 3/16, and approved yesterday.

I'm waiting since early feb. Looks like I still have a ways to go.

Quoted: I'm waiting since early feb. Looks like I still have a ways to go. View Quote I've got (3) form 3's pending with Capitol Armory - mailed 2/8, 2/13, and 3/2. Torrey said the cycle time is running 5-9 weeks with most taking 7-9 weeks from mail to receipt of approved form. This will probably go up as we get closer to 41P, although at the current rate you'd have to get a form 1 in the mail by basically tax day to have a realistic chance of submitting a form 4 before 41p goes into effect. It's anyone's guess how long the ATF will take to get through the form 1/4 rush - 9-12 month waits for submissions in May/June of this year would not surprise me. |

right now im seeing my form 3's taking right at 6 weeks. form 4s r right at 3 months. regardless if e-file or paper, trust or individual

my most current completed F3 was with Tombstone Tac., order was placed on 1/11/16(not sure when the F3 was filed, but they are good at it), I got a shipping notice on 2/15/16 going to my SOT.
I'm waiting on a pending F3 from QRF, order placed on 3/5. |
|
Well this makes me feel optimistic. Dealer just put the F3 in for my first MG. I probably won't see an approved F4 for a year
It's all the trust people trying to avoid the additional hassle of 41F |

SK Arms submitted form 3 on 2/8 and I just received that my form 3 was approved 3/26.

Weird things is I still have one that hasn't cleared from a month before (from my local guy)... ETA: the January cleared two days ago which put it at eight weeks. |

I have two more waiting to clear but those were done on 2/22 and 2/24.

I have a form 3 from capital armory dated 2/11. Hopefully it will be approved soon

Still waiting on a F3 from 1/19
ETA: Shipped to dealer on 4/1 |

I have a few form 3s that just went pending. ATF said it would be 4 weeks or so to approve. Can't wait to get these HKs.
|
|
On average, it's now taking 3-4 weeks to get into the system, and then another 2-3 for approval. It's slowing down.

So curious about this, if your submitted form 3 doesn't come back until after 41p goes into effect, does the form 4 have to be in compliance with 41p or does the form 3 count as "in process"?

Just got notice one that was filed 2/26 got back approved today. It was faxed in.

Any recent form 3 approvals? Are times different if the form 3 is faxed in vs mailed?

Don't know the exact dates, but the order was placed on 12/08/15, IIRC, and the item was delivered to the dealer on 04/09/16. I fully expect NFA wait times to shoot up to over a year as we get close to 41F. Fawkin' sucks too. On the plus side, my DD form 4 should arrive at ATF tomorrow... |

So in other words, if I wanted to buy a factory SBR from out of state, at this point its unlikely that the Form 3 will be approved before July unless I get really lucky?

Heard nothing yet from QRF on a March 7th submission, today is April 16th.

Form 3's seem to have a 2 month spread on possible approval times. Some people submitted in December and are getting them back at the same time as people who submitted in February

Form 3's seem to have a 2 month spread on possible approval times. Some people submitted in December and are getting them back at the same time as people who submitted in February View Quote Looking at all the trend posts here, SS, CA and NFA tracker, it seems I have good luck with F1s, F4s BUT for some reason have the worst luck with F3s! I deal with some of the reputable dealers that frequent or get mentioned in this site. And I always seems to wait an extra month to 6 weeks above the "norm" for form 3s. Two form 3s GOT LOST, from two different vendors (ATF stated the approved date when called, but no form was ever received). Both vendors had to request a second copy of the approved F3s. Had a few F4s that I forgot to SIGN the credit card payment option! -long story with the paperwork-. Received a letter from ATF stating that my application was on hold and to submit the missing information. They even gave me a letter stating the "hold" and to submit that letter with the corrections (as a place holder). The package was signed for and my CC charged. Called ATF 5 months later. They had cancelled my initial submission, even when I included the letter THEY SENT ME, stating otherwise. AND, they waited an additional month after they processed the payment to put all the paperwork in pending status. The interesting point, all I did was sign the CC payment and submitted page 3 and the ATF letter. All other documentation was NOT submitted; as it was stated on the letter as not being required(and originally sent with the first submission). It took them a month to match all the paperwork? At that point I guess they canceled everything and started over... |

I think form 1 cans might be the way to go for things like .22 and 9mm sbr Doesnt take much to quiet them down and with the availability of tubes and kits it's almost a no brainer View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

This thread is really making me look into from 1 cans. I think form 1 cans might be the way to go for things like .22 and 9mm sbr Doesnt take much to quiet them down and with the availability of tubes and kits it's almost a no brainer I wasn't aware that there are kits available for this. Any suggested links? Now for a really stupid question... Why does the form 3 need to be approved before submitting a form 4? To be honest, I don't even understand why a licensed Class 3 dealer has to get approval to transfer an item to another licensed class 3 dealer? Are these ever not approved? I know, it is what it is but I'm curious what the reasoning is? So assuming I got one of the dealers to supply me with the serial # ahead of time, what would happen if I did submit my Form 4 before the Form 3 was approved? |
|
The F3 needs to be approved first, because a Form 4 can't be filed for an item not in a dealer's inventory...and the F3 approval is what moves that item from Dealer 1 to Dealer 2.
As long as the F3 gets approved before the F4 comes up for processing, nothing "happens". If the F4 comes up first, the form gets returned and the dealer is notified that the item in question is not shown in their inventory. |
