Just checked my email and my form 3 for my Omega 9k from Capitol was approved and shipped to my local dealer.

Form 3 sent to atf: 4/29/16
Suppressor mailed: 7/2/16

Silencer shop form 3 sent on 5/5 and approved on 7/3. Now to wait in the damn mailman to deliver it so I can fingerbang it at my local powered by sot.

Silencer Shop is trying to beat the 41F deadline (13 Jul), by submitting the Form 4 before the Form 3 has been approved,
correctly assuming that the sleight of hand won't be caught by the ATF because the Form 4's are taking an amazingly
long time to process. The likelihood of a Form 4 being processed before a Form 3 is comically low in the percentage of chances arena

I remember reading that they have a variance that allows them to do so. Not sure if read that here, in the suppressor forum, or in their industry forum.

They send you a copy to look over right away to see if everything checks out...then they wait for some time to pass until they submit the form 4. Roughly 30 days (which is half of the form 3 processing time). It's all laid out in their industry page.

Is there a way to track out of state form 4 transfers to a dealer? I bought from a guy out of state. My check was cashed on April 19th and I have heard nothing. I obviously missed the deadline. Should I call and check status or do I have a long wait yet ahead of me? TIA

FYI...

The Form 3 has been added back to eForms. Local dealer here said he's submitted a half-dozen or so that way and they immediately go Pending. Not the instant approvals we'd hoped for, but maybe it speeds it up a bit.

I hate to see the wait times y'all have, this is a big reason I buy from Capitol Armory instead of Silencer Shop. I don't understand how a Texas based suppressor dealer won't let you pick up the can you buy from them. They do have good deals sometimes but the f3 kills that deal.

SS is a distrubutor. Not a dealer. Thats why.

I just checked my account at SS and it also said disposed. Called my dealer (Champion Firearms in College Station) and they said that they received it on 7/13..... Neither shop called or emailed me to inform me pf the status change.
They have also been pretty rude in every interaction regarding this transfer. I know that they used to have a shitty reputation for customer service, but it seems like they've been pretty cool the past 5 or 6 years. I guess it's time to moved my business elsewhere.
