The ATF will tel you the exact thing the new dealer is telling you...that you can't transfer a suppressor that isn't yours, and it doesn't belong to that dealer until the F3 is approved.
Now, that's not to say lots of dealers do it anyway once they receive the SN, but you don't really have an argument to make other than "that's not what the last dealer did". |

I just didn't know what the proper procedure really is so sought clarification. |

I get it. I've had three different dealers do it for me, so I've never really waited on a Form 3 other than a couple from SS before they started their new business model.
Just letting you know the official process. Luckily, F3s aren't taking as long as they were a year or so ago. |
