I just bought another suppressor. The check was cashed 4 days after I bought it. So NFA is on the ball! So if you're check took 4 months to cash, that's either dealer fault or NFA lose your shit then found it.

Because I am a glutton for punishment, I called the ATF for a status again yesterday.

I was told...

Received.... April 16
Pending.... May 6
Projected Approval ..... Soon.

Her words, not mine.  I had been told previously that the projected date was December.  I guess this is good.

Well, shit that at least makes me feel better that it didn't get lost in the mail.  I ALWAYS use delivery confirmation or certified mail but was mailing a bunch of stuff at once this time and didn't notice the clerk didn't put it on there.  I'd feel even better if I knew that it got there at least!

My check posted TODAY.  For fuck's sake almost two months from mailing to check cashed...

SO whats the deal with NFA tracker?  Is no one filing form 4's or 1's INDIVIDUAL anymore?  Am I the only one

All I see when I check there on the trend graph is trust paper forms.  And yes I am selecting to see individual as well, it just seems that there are none there.  And the wait time predict is telling me by june next year for a september pending?!

Sent 8 July 14
Pending 27 July 14
Approved 25 Nov 14

On a trust. SF Ryder 22-A.

Not bad

I also sent the form 4 individual in. It went pending May 21.
By watching the trackers on this site and the NFA tracker, it appears that trusts are being approved much faster than form 4 individual.
And I continue to wait!!!!

Got my Individual F4 back to my dealer last week.

Mailed out at the end of March, check cashed mid-April, pending mid-May I believe.

Just for anyone else in the same boat.

A man can dream!

More than anything its been 3 months...might as well call and get an update.

EDIT: Called 5 minutes ago and spoke to Damon.  He said I would have it "no later than April".  I expect it in hand in mid January...but thanks for the approximation!

This is good news.  Dealer got my Gemtech Multimount in yesterday.  I dropped the forms off with him yesterday evening.  Should have gone out today, tomorrow at the latest.  Would be nice to think I'd get it back before the end of April.

I just called yesterday and discovered that a Form 4 Trust I have in the queue was approved in 92 days (Sent 9/16, approved 12/18).  Much faster than I was expecting, and even faster than another item I had sent a month earlier.  Good times, I guess.

I just got the call from the gun owner (transferor) that my individual F4 is in his hands.

FN FAL
Individual F4 (in state transfer)
Mailed April 4
Received approval  (in hand) December 21

In my case, I didn't see a speed up with approvals.  Maybe it was the individual thing, maybe because it was paper, maybe because it was a MG & not a suppressor.  It was still 8 1/2 months, send to return.

Quick question for those that have been down this road....

I got my Form 4 approval on Dec. 5, 2014.  As of now, I am still waiting for the stamp to arrive.  Is this typical?   If it matters, this is a paper transfer.

To never.

Many people have the form never show up. After 30 days, you can request a certified copy. It won't have the stamp, but it's legal. Then, you have to wait for that copy to show up.

My Form 4 check was cashed on November 18.  ATF has no record of it in their system yet.  The guy on the phone thought that it should be in by now, so he forwarded me to a voice mailbox to ask (which I did but no response).  Should I be worried yet or patient?

I'd give it six weeks before I was worried the form was lost.  If the form does get lost the good news is an email to the supervisor and a quick fax often solves the problem.  I always keep a copy of the form as submitted for just such an occasion.

Usually it goes pending within 2 weeks of being mailed but I would wait a little bit. Do you know when the check was cashed? I had my mailed in November and check cashed on the 25th of November and it JUST went into pending December 19th. So almost a whole month.

I would ask the examiner to find out where its at. I couldn't get an answer so I went on my NFA eforms account and did "ask the experts" and asked there. They replied within a day saying mine went pending December 19th.

I have a Nov 17th check cashing that still is not pending either. Maybe we were in the same box that got lost? lol

I have a Nov 4th check cashing that went pending 2 weeks after- so that leads me to believe there is something wrong with ours unfortunately.

I called and asked, and got transferred to a 'specialist' and she said she would call me back within 2-3 days with a response and never did.

No one is at the ATF branch until next monday and the eforms website is down until 6pm tonight, I will check again for a pending then.

This actually leaves me hope.  Maybe our "box" was assigned to a data input clerk that has been off a lot due to the holidays.  I'll keep checking every week.

Hope that we're gonna get shafted together?

Honestly I'm not TOO optimistic right now...but Nov 17th is still within their quotes 6-8 week 'timeframe' for when they believe it should be pending. I think after the new year we can begin freak out and hell raise mode.
