I added the list to the OP.
I'm glad to see Frushour as my examiner. He was my examiner before the shakeup by state and he was good. |

We love Mr. Lamberger. We are in NE and he has helped us out many times over.

We have received Form 4's with 2 new names on them....
Sandra Snook and Jason Bowers, both have been kind and have helped in any way they could. |
Jason Bowers is no longer there.

Had a form 1 and a form 4 done by pickles and it was almost 6 months to the day. The form 1 had an error that she sent back for me to fix and I had the same error on the form 4 and she corrected it for me. I have no gripes with her.

Heard a horrible rumor here that Sara Jones is gone? Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Unless things have changed, I have Farris for CT and currently at 189 days pending.
Sara Jones is STILL an examiner. So that rumor is dispelled that she's no longer with NFA
I just talked to Sara Jones about some stamps that were approved in late June and still not received. She said she's not the examiner for Texas anymore.

Farris has my current Form 1 for WI, so looks like things are... fluid.
ETA: I'm retarded - didn't notice she got us back in Oct. of 2012. I used to have Frushour. |
Please dont take it personally, the ad hominem is simply my favorite fallacy...
Talked to them today to figure out where to send the letter for my missing stamps. Confirmed that Sara no longer does Texas - it's Jason Bowers.
I was looking at NFA tracker and compared some pending dates of a few examiners. It appears that Farris is at least a month behind. Can't say for sure because I haven't called, but based on pending dates in December being approved now in July, when other examiners are approving January pending dates.

So if it's examiner by state, does that examiner handle both Form1's and Form4's? I only ask because Form1's are sent to Martinsburg, WV, and Form4's are sent to Atlanta, GA.
So if Feltner did my Form 4's, will she also be handling my Form 1's?? <---- If that's the case, then why are the forms sent/mailed to two separate locations? |

View Quote Yes, the examiner for a state handles all forms from anyone in that state. All tax-due forms -- Form 1, Form 4 -- traditionally (since the 1980's) went through a clearinghouse, where the payment was removed and deposited, before the applications were forwarded to NFA Branch. For decades, it was in Chicago. More recently, it has been done in Atlanta. About a decade ago, there was a huge increase in Form 1's submitted by residents of states which prohibited the NFA item listed on the Form 1 (SBRs in NY, etc.). The result was an increasing number of rejected applications, and an increasing number of NFA tax refunds. So ATF decided to have all Form 1's sent directly to NFA Branch to make sure the Form 1's complied with state law, before the tax payment was deposited. Saved a lot of manpower in issuing refunds. Once a Form 1's payment is deposited, it goes into the same stack as the Form 4's coming in from Atlanta. Forms are processed according to the date code stamped at the top of the application when the envelope is opened, regardless of where it is opened. |

If you haven't seen this, or aren't aware, you fellas in the NFA game might wanna look at this thread ASAP regarding new CLEO sign off requirement on trusts/corporate form submission.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_17/406342_It_s_Official__CLEO_Certification_To_Be_Required_For_Trusts_Corps.html Please don't derail THIS thread with comments other than NFA timeline info, as that's its sole purpose. The purpose of this post is simply to inform you that CLEO sign off is likely to become a REQUIREMENT for trust/corporate registry of any NFA weapon.....which will have an ENORMOUS negative impact. Post your comments in the linked thread only. Thanks. |
