They want the category. Just put "Short Barrelled Rifle."

2. For block 4e, I've read that you can put "less than 16 inches" but for block 4f Overall, you need to have a specific length. I'm planning on using a 7.5 inch barrel, but I have no idea what else I'm using such as flash suppressor or stock. Should I just guess? Flash hiders don't count unless you weld them on. A factory Colt 6933 with 11.5" barrel is 30.5" OAL, so for a 7.5" barrel, put down 26.5". That's close enough for government work. No one is gonna put a micrometer on it.

3. For block 4i "State Why You Intend To Make Firearm", should I put home defense, target practice, all legal purposes, other? "All lawful purposes" works, and is often used.

Can someone please edit and tell the person that's submitting a form 1, needs to submit 2 copies. Both with original signatures!

I just filled one out myself and I didn't see where it stated to send 2 copies front and back so I only sent one form 1 along with my copy trust and comp.

Download the latest version of Adobe Reader, it's free.
We'll have to call it early quantum state phenomenon. Only way to fit 5000 species of mammal on the same boat.

I used two computers and both didn't work.

I downloaded 5330.20 from the ATF homepage.

www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5330-20.pdf

I got an 2 years old version of 5330-20 in pdf that works. Not sure if they accept it tho. Where did you download yours?

My lower will be a 5.56 mm (already engraved from the manufacturer) and the SBR upper will be a .300 BLK. Do I have to engrave .300 AAC BLK on the lower receiver? Thanks in advance....

Excellent thread, thanks for the info. 2 questions

1) What is the current address for ATF form 4's?

2) Is a certificate of compliance required for form 4s or just form 1s?

Both addresses should work but batfe is saying the GA address. Cert. of Compliance is required for both form 1 and 4

Thanks, and a single copy of the certification of compliance should be sufficient?

Obviously, when you file as an individual, they do a personal back round check on you. But what about if you file using your family LLC? I didn't see on the forms where they ask for every member of the LLC, do they? Do they run a back round check on all members of the LLC?

I called the ATF, they said filling out the .20 by hand is fine.

That is what I did. Everything goes in the mail today.

Has anyone used guntrustlawyer dot com to set up their trusts?

They seem to be very pro gun and I talked to a lady yesterday. They can do a very customized trust to set up family members and even include children to be included into the trust upon 18th b-day.

I am gone away from home alot and NEED to be able to add my wife to a trust to keep her lawfully safe as she must have access to our gun safe. Plus our CLEO's here both city and county will absolutely refuse to sign anything NFA related. I have no other routes.

I have been researching and alot of people have had problems with living trusts compared to a specific gun trust?? Not sure if that is a scare tactic or not.

I will be filling out a few form 1's as soon as I have a trust in play as I plan on SBR and silenced. And I want to buy a couple .22lr silencers for the wife and I to have fun at the range.

This was a long read and I wish I was surprised at the repeat questions that were answered in the first post but I am not.

You don't specifically need a "gun trust." Any trust will work as along as its valid. I and many others used a Quicken fill in the blank type trust and they work fine. As long as its a legally valid trust in your state your fine. Basically, you can pay ~$10-$50 for a Quicken type trust or $500 for Guntrust Lawyer's trust, its your choice and either one will work if prepared correctly.

The Quicken type trusts will work if your willing to do some basic research on how a trust works and the relationships involved. I used this as a guide and template. I also took a class on probate law several years ago when I was working on my undergrad, so setting up a trust wasn't that intimidating. The one issue I found in this trust kit was that they did a poor job with FL's trust execution laws. FL is the only state that I know that requires an affidavit to be executed attesting that people witnessed you sign/execute the trust. As a result, I had to make my own affidavit forms.

I might have missed it, but, Do I need to fill out the additional requirements section or submit a 5330-20 if I am a corporation?

You definitely do need to fill out the additional requirements section. And I always send in a 5330.20 for my corporate transfers –– it takes like 15 seconds to do so, and even though it technically is not required, an examiner in hurry mode may not realize it's a corp form and set your application into the "problem status" pile without thinking. I have never heard of an application being slowed by including a 5330.20 when it was not required.

just a heads up on the 5330.20 at the top it states (All entries Must be in ink, printed in CAPITAL LETTERS, and legible.)

I kind of took it that it must be hand written.
