THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT It is marked " P Powell" on the lock and "P Powell Cini" on the barrel. Full stock with Brass accents; double set triggers; It is rifled and I would guess the caliber to be dang close to 64 ??? basic research looks like it possibly came from a Palemon Powell who owned a gunshop in Cinicinatti, ohio. He was in business for quite a long time but looks like "P Powell" guns as marked were made from 1878-1887. I am NOT sure if he made the gun or he imported the misc. pieces in from England and Belgium and marked the pieces with his name. Here are a couple pics (cut & paste): http://i49.tinypic.com/qz0jyg.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/14iekvr.jpg What you guys think? Thoughts? Value? * Am I on the right track with its origins? |
