Gently tap out the pin on the front of the sight leaf and pull it out from the rear.

Doesn't matter. It's just a round pin, not tapered at all. Will go out either way. Try pushing down on the rear sight leaf as you tap the pin out. There's a piece of spring steel under the sight leaf that pushes it upward; it might be causing enough resistance to make the pin harder to tap out.

Spray some penetrating oil on the pin to make it easier.

Ive tried all the above and I still don't have it out. I think both sides have 'mushroomed' a little bit, which makes removal harder than a viagra overdose.
