The Chinese ones will outlast Winchesters but they don't feel as nice as Winchester until this guy gets done with them.

First thing to try is tighten all screws.

If it's a 1910 build date then it's not a trench gun. None were built pre-war. There were 'riot' (cylinder) versions prior to WW1, but they didn't have the heat shield/bayonet mount, just a plain 20" barrel.

Edit: looked up trench gun dates, started in 1915 at app serial # 615,000

If you are saying with holding the trigger to the rear and pumping the hammer follows and fires once the slide is fully forward that is normal- there is nothing broke or to fix
