Well, I'm just proud as hell I paid half of what Classic wanted for their 03s...So I'm going to share this. While the polished bolt and replaced stock aren't exactly correct, I think she'll do just fine. The Lyman 48 it came with was a little bonus as well...Credit to the mysterious seller for the amazing pics capturing this "transition" 03 in all her splendor...

I also bought this 03A3... For a song... more like an album....somehow... Admittedly, the seller managed to leave me a little meat on the bone and knowingly... I'm grateful to have them both. Now I've got to find the time to bring out the white gloves and shoot them.

Great pictures of a beautiful gun.

Make sure you check your serial numbers and verify they are after the heat-treating problem numbers.

Beautiful rifles.  The Remington 1903 it appears that someone polished the bolt body, not chromed.  The lower band is stamped but could be correct because it is toward the end of Rem 1903 production.  Any other stamped parts?  Do you have a picture of the the 1903's bolt?

The 1903 has always been my favorite rifle.  Beautiful lines and workmanship.

Here are a few of my family members.

Nice family!  I'll have to get my clan altogether for a group shot One day. Yes, you are right. Polished, not chromed. Not sure why I said chromed...Shiny nonetheless.

Potato pics of 03.....

It's a Remington which means it's a Nickel Steel receiver and was produced during WW2.

My 1911 production Springfield shoots just fine. I would like to find a nice S stock one day though. Or a C stock, really. The scant stock is in nice shape, I just don't like the way it feels.
