There are quite a few of these around in the UK. Most of them are advertised as being the '1903, yet chambered in .22LR rather than .22 Win Auto, and I'm not sure if that's being done in error, or if they're conversions. Most I've seen do show signs of modification, specifically in the form of having been adapted to accept a scope.

Is there anything, in particular, to look out for when examining one of these rifles, and are spare parts available at all? Does the quality of them vary much between pre and post WW2 manufactured examples?
