Is a harbor freight 120 amp flux welder good enough for this? Only need a few welds and can't buy a $500 Miller.
Thx

I don't remember! You should join up over at weapons guild. Lots of great info for a home build and much better than weaponeer IMO

I welded up my mk2 reciever with a little 100 amp lincoln machine. I think I even had it on the highest setting. But as stated before, I did a bunch of testing beforehand, mostly to make sure I didn't burn through. The leftover scraps from the old receiver worked good for that. So the harbor freight machine should do fine.

if you are worried about too much heat, get a chunk of brass round stock the inner dimension of the tube. It will act as a heat sink and prevent the burn through.
