If I wanted to add one to my collection, how much should I expect to pay? Did they go up like the 91/30s?

I'm not looking to spend a bundle so a rare one might price me out of the market.

Likely.  People pay stupid money for say one made out of an ex-dragoon or alike....$700-800!  I don't get since they are all just post-war Bulgarian reworks and historically insignificant.

Prices on 91/59's can vary depending on region and if the seller is up on Mosin prices. Izhevsk 1942-43 are the most common of course

Around here they are pretty common as Big 5 sold tons of them along with regular M38's so they show up regularly in the $ 150-250 range. I would not pay anywhere near 700 for one not even a Tula or hex recvr one.

If you are stuck buying internet ....expect stupid high prices.

Here you can't touch a 91/30 for under  $180.

Based on supply and demand 91/59s should be more expensive than a 91/30 because there are a whole lot less of them around.  Even back in the day when 91/30s and M44s were plentiful and cheap M38s and 91/59s were very uncommon and tended to bring a few more bucks.

91/59s were still a great deal for shooters back in the day as they often were better shooters than M44s and cheaper than M38s and of course more convenient sized than a 91/30.

Even AIM want $270 for a 91/30 now.  On Armslist locally they go for around $300.  I havn't seen a 91/59 for sale in a long time.

I missed a 91/59 by five seconds at a show this weekend. Sad part is the guy who bought didn't know what it was, he just liked it better than the one with the bayonet       ( Hungarian M44). I did get the M44

There is one (1943) at my LGS that they want $349.00 for....I suspect it could be had for $300.00.

They got in a 1943 M44 refurb (laminate stock) on consignment for $285.00. Not that bad of a price but it was missing the cleaning rod and it had that ugly R-Guns billboard on the receiver.

91/59 are a much better shooting rifle than 91/30 and m38/44 and therefore cost more.

I have picked up a few in the past including Hex and Tula for $300 but i haven't seen any this year.

The older converted m91 are m91/38 and get the $700+ prices. These are lass common than the 59s.

If my memory is working (insufficient coffee), finding a 91/59 with a cleaning rod was hit-or-miss, even when they were plentiful.  I think mine didn't come with one.  I suppose I should have bought more, at $75 back then.
