Cool find!

I have a Peruvian M1935 that was re-chambered by FN in .30-06.

That's beautiful!

What's up the story on these? Factory rebarrel and parkerized? When I think of older Mausers I think of blued metal.

I know have heard that in the late 30's Peru's military had FN rebarrel Mausers for .30-06 so they could have ammo common to their other rifles.

As for the finish.... ???

Didn't Denmark also use Mausers chambered for 30-06 ?

I had a chance to buy an FN .30-06 Mauser a little while back, sadly someone had put a peep sight on it and refinished the military stock so I had to pass.  If I saw that one it would have come home with me, too.  They're neat guns and I believe the very last Mauser action military guns made.  FN Mausers are some of my favorites, I have a Greek contract with impeccable quality and a very nice FN sporting action from the 50s in .270 as well.

Not that i'm aware of. They used the 1889 Danish version of the Krag till WWII and afterwards we supplied them with M1917's and M1 Garand rifles. The Dutch, I believe purchased new Mauser rifles after WWII.
