Stumbled upon this 1903A3 Remington at my local gun shop.

The gun shop is asking $800 but wanted to know what the experts think.

Rifle looks to be all Remington matching parts.

Stock is stamped - 0182

Barrel is marked RA 2-44 (I did not get to measure the muzzle wear with a M2 ball cartridge but the rifling looks a bit frosted)

Yes the .303 Enfield below is consigned $500
Many thanks,

Meh, both are overpriced...the 03A3 is worn, has rack numbers stamped in the stock, I'd say it's a $650 gun at best, but YMMV...

Just noticed the bolt is stamped with last three of the s/n...I bet it is a Greek return, or was sent to a foreign gov't of some sort...that wasn't done in the US...

And the No.4 is way high too, unless for some reason it is really special...

I agree that the prices on both of those guns are too high. Now, if they were in mint condition we might be talking...

If you really want one, id consider 700 if it is all matching.

If you are talking about the 03A3, there is no matching.  If it was correct, it would be worth more than $700 imo.  OP, that rifle is $150 or so overpriced, but it also depends on how much you want one and how common they are in your area.

Great info guys - so a reasonable price on the 03A3 would be in the $650 range?

Yeah, I'd bite on it at $650. As said, it's a CMP Greek return. Those generally had a fair amount of external wear (and sometimes had strange things done to them) but weren't shot a lot and normally have good bores. It's way too high at $800; I recently picked up a nicer 03A3 for $700.

I can't think of a reason why a non-sniper No. 4 would ever be worth more than $400, unless it was a NIW No. 4 Mk. 2 or a No. 4 trials rifle.
