After getting a lot of info from this site the rifle that told was Type 99 Arisaka ended up being a Type 2 Paratrooper.

Gun is in decent condition for an Arisaka, I am not sure why everyone I have ever seen was beat to hell. The rifle has a matching bolt and receiver and still has its factory bakelight muzzle cover. Sadly the mum has been ground off of rifle and th D ring on the take down bolt is missing.

Here's the pictures-

As it sits, I would guess anywhere from $1600 - $2500...although I haven't looked at recently WON auctions on GB (can't just look at past auctions, since what people want, and what they get are two different things typically, especially on GB...).

My guess it could go well north of that on a good GB auction, or specialized Jap auction....

But then again, it might not...tough to say, its a fickle market right now....

Looks like the halves are mismatched. The front half shoud have the same assembly number as the rear, 895. The front band should ne numbered  813. If mismatched that doesn't help the value.........

I will disassemble the front half and look for a number as the only visible digits is a 1 and a 3.

The front band will usually be numbered on the back side of the bayo lug...

Theothermonkyboy may be right, there should be assembly numbers front and back half that should match up...but a fair amount of them do seem to be mismatched...

It wouldn't matter too much to me, you got it for a great price, they are pretty scarce/rare....like I said, on a good auction you would probably get $1500 to $2000....locally probably $1000 to $1500....

Some of my best pieces I lucked into....and most likey I wouldn't have shelled out the big bucks for them since they really don't fit into my niche....
