As embarrassing as this sounds, I was going through my safe and found a rifle I forgot I had.  Now that I see it, I remember buying it a long time ago.  It's a Polish M44 that's mint - never been fired and looks like it was just manufactured yesterday.  Not sure how common these are now; if they are rare, I'd be happy to take some pics and post them if anyone's interested.

They are actually pretty common. They are so nice most people never shoot them.

More rare to find a well used and abused Polish M44.

I picked up a mint Hungarian M44 back when I first got my C&R. Unfortunately, I believed the box description on the Russian commercial ammo I bought to try in it and did nothing but run a bore snake through it after shooting. What was a mint barrel now is "not mint". Externally it is still a thing of beauty, or at least as close to beautiful as a M44 can get.

Are they common?  I couldn't find a single Gunbroker auction for one...

Well not as common as Soviets refrubs but they average 1 being auctioned a week. These days some people will give you silly money for them when they are looking like new

Note that the last pic, it would appear that the wood has some scratches on it, but it's not.  Just appears that the finish didn't adhere to that area of the stock.
