Who can give me some info on what stripper clips will work decent in the SVT-40. Mags are next to impossible to find and I hear that stripper clips are finicky too. Pictures of SVT-40s just add to the content as well!

Mosin/SVT stripper clips are awful. I take the mag out of my SVT and load the rounds by hand. Sorry no pics, I need to take some.

I just load my mags also, haven't found any decent clips.

I have a 41 Izhevsk. Chinese 31 stamped, Soviet and Finn stripper clips have worked ok most of the time. They do take some practice and getting used to. I have stayed away from commercial repos as I have never found any that work well.

Russian stripper clips are horrible. Here is a pick though!

Wait, you said SVT-40. My bad!

Here is my Podolsk 40.

I always found loading single rounds with the mag either out or in the rifle was the best way to go. Mosin stripper clips are just a shit design. I've had a couple work okay at best. Most are worth more as scrap.

If you can't load a mosin or svt with a Russian stripper clip then you have issues.. Mine all load fine from the clip.

Same here. I pull the mag and load.

Original east block ones tend to load fine. They are not cheap, last I checked they were about $5 a clip. I would avoid the commercial reproductions, as I have yet to find one that works properly. Also would avoid the brass ones, while they work fine they grow brittle with use and break much easier then the steel ones.

I bought a ton of the Polish on clips that came out a few years ago in 300rd tins.
