I found these on eBay, I want to know if they really work or just snake oil.

They work if you know what you are doing. The Finns did and many of their Mosins are expertly shimmed.

They are shims, they will work.
Problem is you need the skill and knowledge to get the receiver shimmed properly or you could make your accuracy much worse.

If it is the same original sniper as before don't do the action screw bushings.
Besides they are a pain. They have to be just the right height for your stock, other wise you have the same issues as to much or not enough shim. Not to mention if they have a tight tolerance compared to the receiver bolt size you just about have to circle mill the holes over sized for the bushings. The holes in mosin stocks tend to not be exactly the same distance apart as the bolt locations on the receiver, so if you just drill them oversize for the bushing you have a horrible time putting them back together.

Hello,

They do work well.  You bought Brian's kit; he uses the Russian methods.  Mine use the Finnish methods, but they both work very well.

Here's a link to an article I wrote: http://www.smith-sights.com/accurizing-the-mosin-nagant-a-year-later.php

I hope this helps you some!

Regards,

Josh
