A local gun shop has a New England Westinghouse M91 with US markings, all numbers matching and a pretty decent bore.

I've been looking for M91's lately and just about fell stunned to the floor when I saw the price.

The owner gave me permission to take some pics (on Monday) because you just never see one that hasn't been messed with these past 100 years.

The big question is can I post the pics here so people can see the rifle as long as I don't say where it's for sale?

$1900..

It's going to have to be some awesome example of a Westinghouse Mosin.

Tagged for pics as well. I'm in Florida too, don't worry. If I didn't buy a Mosin for a $100.00, I'm sure as hell not buying one for nineteen times previous amount.

Tag.

I wouldn't give $1,900 for a gold plated Mosin, in for pics though.

You can and you can say where its for sale as long as you are not the seller.

I saw an 8mm Mosin for sale at an LGS for $1,800.  I was tempted to buy it.  These are rare as hell.

I have seen a few US M91 sell for $1000+ The US m91 that left the country and came back via Finland/Balkans are common, Ones that never left are rare as long as they are in original condition. Bannerman and cadet rifles are interesting but don't appeal to collectors like the US proofed flaming bomb m91s. The few all original brand new rifle that likely went home with the factory worker demand the premium.

Mosins sell for $1000+ every week, last year the were multiple $5000+ Mosins and a super rare m91 that went for $12,500.
Unless you know exactly what you are looking at, don't assume its over priced. That said, just because it costs a lot, don't assume it rare or collectable.

It's at Deer Hunter Guns in Clearwater, FL.

Yeah, that's not a $1,900 rifle.

Assuming it's not Finn marked I think that is worth over $1,000.  No where near $1,900, though.

No Finn markings on it anywhere.  The reason I noticed it in the first place is I was LOOKING for a Finn kiv/91 or kiv/24.

While I don't think I'd drop $1,900 on it; they do seem to manage to sell guns that I think are priced too high.  Knowing your clientele and market are the keys to a successful business, and he's been there for a long long time.

That would go great with a scope kit and an arch angel stock.

I kid. Pretty great example, but the price seems a little rough. Then again, find another one like it.....

Well, it is US marked, and still in its original configuration, so a US collector would ay a premium...$1900, doubt it, but you put it on GB, and you might be surprised...

The US marked guns are pretty rare, and definitely worth more than any other NEW Mosins....

Probably one of the FL Capitol Mosin Nagants.

After WWI, FL received some of them for the National Guard. They were stored in the Old FL Capitol. In the 1950s during a renovation they were found and given away to State employees for free.

They have one on display in the Capitol.

There's a US Marked Remington on Gunbroker right now pushing three thousand bucks.

In a lot better shape than the local one, but WOW.

I guess the days of "it's a Mosin and all Mosins are $100" are over.

I don't see how the grey blanket gets so much money for stuff.  That said, that is one amazing rifle.  Not sure it's $5K+ amazing, though.

Nice Mosin! But not $1900 nice.... Thanks for the history lesson! I didn't know the guard had Mosins.....

Hmmm.  Now I gotta pull my Remington Mosin (and the New England Westinghouse) out of the safe and compare condition.  I got mine back in the days when "Remington Mosins were $150."

Empire Arms had (had being the word, it's sold) an M27rv today, went for $3800.

Not all Mosins are cheap or common.

Wow, someone stole that 27rv!  I've seen one get passed back and forth on gunbroker for about triple that.
