I've been combing the market for French rifles for years now. It seems that prices are way, way up in the past six months or so. The only underpriced examples I've found ended up in my hands.
 There's two MAS 1944s available right now for $1250 and $1500. A minty 49/56 sold on GB tonight for $1075. There's a decent Syrian 49 right now for $750. Are people waking up to how awesome French .mil rifles are, or are there just a few hardcore collectors with deep pockets?  |

49/56s have been steadily climbing in price so long as they are matching and not in 308. MAS36s seem to be doing the opposite, I usually see them for $200 or less.

They need not worry about me spending more than 200 on a MAS.
