If this isn't the correct forum, please let me know where I should post this.

I picked up 500 rounds of this ammunition.  Clean and shiny.

Mis-labeled as .303 British and I took the aucioneers word for it.

From this site:  http://www.mosinnagant.net/a4abic.asp

I found this picture, which IS what I have.

What can you tell me about this ammunition?   Good to go?

Thanks!

Should go bang but expect hangfires and leaky/blown primers ....... that is my experience with Egyptian 54R.

Thanks.

I'll likely end up selling it, as I don't own a 54R.   Just wanted to make sure it wasn't absolute crap.

Berdan primed?

Berdan primed, corrosive, primers are of questionable seal and
reliability, hang fires are common and even more common if stored in
humid areas or if cold.

You might also be able to trade it for .303 at a loss, as almost all other surplus 54r is superior, about the same loss might occur selling it, as it's not near the same value as .303

I have shot some up. It is as described above . Had more issues than any other surplus I have used .

It appears to not be very popular, or long ago shot up.  Can't find any for sale.

I want to put it on the EE, but what price, for all, or per round?

What weapon did the Egyptians have that shot the 54R?

Machine guns and I think some version of the SVD or Druganov

Egypt made a bunch of 8mm for their Hakims and FN49's.  Hard primers, and smells like cat piss.  Accuracy was OK, tho.

You lost if you paid .303 prices for 7.62x54, but it'll probably go bang in your Mosin.

Don't own a Mosin.
I am more of a Mauser guy:  Mauser I built can be seen >>>HERE<<<

Nah, I didn't pay .303 prices.   Didn't even pay 54R prices, if I knew exactly what 54R was worth.

Just sold the only .303 I had yesterday, so it wouldn't be useful if it had been .303.

What price per round should I put on this ammo?  I'll end up putting it in the EE for local pick up.
