Going to look at a 2a1.  Looked it over yesterday while I was doing a transfer for a lower, at it. Caught my attention.  It appears to be in good, shoot able condition, asking 220 for it.  I'm going to offer 200 otd and see what happens.  What say the hive?

$200 or even $220 + tax is an excellent price for one of those these days.  They're going for $300-$350 now.

Best Enfield ever.  Freed of the rimmed .303, the already great action became even better.  FYI, modern high grade steel.  The 2A1 was not a rework.  It was a new made rifle.

Good deal!  I bought one last weak that has a nice looking (sanded stock), matching numbers,  and a worn finish with a nice patina for $275.  I ran across one today in immaculate unmolested finish and matching numbers for $280 OTD.  I am really wanting to go back and get the second one, but really don't NEED a second.

I paid right at $220 several years ago so paying that today is a excellent buy.

One of the Gibbs Jungle Carbine repops made from 2A or 2A1 rifles would make a excellent truck rifle. I know that they irritate purists when they see them or talk of them but you can't beat a short, 12 shot 7.62x51 with a smooth Enfield action.

I've got one of the Gibbs "Jungle Carbines" made from a 2A1. I had some issues with it when I first bought it, but it has actually been a good gun since I fixed the issues. I've not shot it a lot (about 150 rds or so), but it is reasonably accurate and reliable, as long as you work the action vigorously. Work the bolt slowly and it will fail to eject with regularity. If I was going to keep a gun in my car, it would be a good option.

I'd like to find an unmolested 2A1, but I really don't want to pay how much a lot of the sellers are asking. If I could find one for $220 locally, I'd jump on it. I think I paid $175 for my "Jungle Carbine" when I bought it when Gibbs first made and sold them, $220 for an unmolested 2A1 would be a steal nowadays.

I also picked up a 2a1 last week. I was able to get out to the range on Sunday and it was surprisingly accurate with bulk 7.62x51. I paid $250 after taxes and it's a neat gun. Also for those interested in feeding their ishapores, walmart has made in turkey zq1 7.62 ammo on sale for about $10.

Enjoy.  They're great rifles.  I have two.

I've listed this one locally with no interest. Probably should keep this one around.

Spring is in, just have to shoot it.

Looking at the bore, it is bright and shiny except for the 1.5in at the muzzle.  Anyone else's like this?
