I wish it was easier to find Chinese stuff in good shape, most of their stuff is beat to hell

Very interesting..that one shore looks like it could tell some stories

Quality/metallurgy wise how comparable to the GEW 88 it is based off of?

I would have to say that these rifle were very well built. They were used alot and most show a lot of wear.
Here is a list of actions it may have been used in.
Japenese invasion 1931-1937.
WWII 1937-1945
Chinese Civile War 1945-1949.
Koren War 1951-1953
