THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I picked up an SMLE with Lithgow marks some time ago. Numbers from two guns are present, but it isn't a complete cluster of nonsense. She looks and handles nicely.

What I didn't plan on was picking up a random "Hey, this will work" bayonet this morning for $50 and finding that it has Australian proofs from 1942 on it. The receiver for my Lithgow is dated 1941. Scabbard also has Aussie marks, but is likely post-war.

So, to be honest, I would have paid out the nose if I had researched it ahead of time, but by sheer dumb luck I ran into a lovely bayonet that will go with my SMLE.

Was taking pictures for another thread and figured I'd toss up a thread on this lil guy.

Obligatory pics:

Me: "I can do anything you want, and more."

Nice score on the bayonet. It took me a while to track down the correct dated blade, scabbard and frog.

I'm primarily a No4 collector but the Lithgow is a must have LE. I just lucked in to a full case of Brit .303 FN 51&52, in clips and bandoleers. Sure does shoot nice and I love the smell of cordite.

Nice bayonet! Love the Lithgows.

My dad actually found a Lithgow bayonet in a shed on his property recently, and passed it on to me. No scabbard with it but I was able to acquire a WWII Lithgow OA scabbard to go along.

It gets to live on my '16 Lithgow.
