Yes, leave it. I doubt you will be running any Germans through, so preserve the history.

Well that was quick and easy, I'll leave it as is. Well at least until nazis or zombies attempt to take over the world again, when that happens I'm sharpening it.

Unless you plan on using it, and you probably have more suitable knives available, you are right in just leaving it as it is. Bayonets really don't need to be all that sharp anyway.

Bayonets are not fighting knives.
They're stabbing weapons so sharpening the edge really does no good, and in fact may reduce the effectiveness of it's damaging abilities of tearing flesh instead of cutting it. Modern bayonets that are combination bayonets/fighting knives may be sharpened. The older types are best left as-is. |

They were not sharpened originally although some soldiers did sharpen them against orders (or policy, anyway.)
If it is original finish you should be able to see that the blade was left in the white except for about the first 2 inches in front of the bolsterl. |

Not so sure about it having absolutely no edge when issued, every other p1913 sword-bayonet I have seen has had an edge to it, while not necessarily sharp ( mine sure isn't) there definitely appears to be an edge |
