Was pushing too hard to get the barrel band off and snap. 
I know you can buy replacement retained but I'd love to know how they are installed. |

If you look on the opposite side of the stock, you should find a very small hole there. Just get a very small punch and tap it out from that side.

Sorry for not clarifying and directly answering your question. To install one, you would do the reverse order of what I explained above.

That would have probably gotten you tok'd in the Red Army. If you use snap ring pliers you'll never have a problem, well, maybe.
