I decided to try building an 03A4 from a barreled action. I secured a Remington 03A3 action less bolt, and a couple of sporterized bolts for it. I've had the preferred bolt and action down to s 'smith and it headspaces OK, should clear the scope no problem. My father donated an unissued Remington 03A3 C stock he has had stored since the early 1960s. I stopped at a gunshow and got some barrel bands, springs, etc, that I needed and I ordered my scope. I need rings and mount, and then I'll be finished. The barrel is original, if I need another I need another, but it's got a bright and shiny bore, doesn't look like the rifling is wiped out.

(03A3 sight is for my Dad's '43 Smith Corona)

Almost done. I need rings and mount. May have to modify the mount to match the holes in the receiver

That's a beautiful stock!

It's going to turn out great, can't wait to see it when it's done. And the range report.
