vz. 82. It's practically a modern pistol, and you can get it with your C&R. Was my first C&R purchase with my license too.

You should get:
1.) CZ-82 : Modern pistol, amazing trigger, and dead accurate. 2.) Tokarev : Get the M57 or Polish TT-33 (or, in arfcom fashion, get both) 3.) Nagant Revolver - Cheap ($100 - $125 range), plentiful, and it has a very…. interesting history 4.) Makarov - compact and cool looking. All around awesome gun These are the 4 types you should get a soon as possible. As of right now, all 4 of these are relatively plentiful and inexpensive, but prices are going up As far as long guns, I would start with 1.) Mosin Nagant - $100 piece of soviet whoop-***. Your not a collector until you have one of these 2.)Swiss K31 - Incredibly well made, very accurate, and very unique 3.) M27/48 - Yugoslavian version of the Mauser. They are a very good deal right now at around $200-$300 4.) Yugoslavian SKS - Well made and unique, they generally go for around $275 right now |

I've got... a Type 53, 7 M44s... an M38, 91/59 & M91/30... So that's what... 11? And there are a bunch of variations I'm missing, so my collection is by no means complete yet. |

CZ-82
Makarov P64 Tokarev I have all four. The 82 is the most modern, and is amazingly accurate and fun to shoot. |

AIM is suppose o\to be getting some in later this summer.
J&G Sales has them. I like about 2.5 hours from them. And missed the last show. Was gonna pick up both a Nagant Pistol and a CZ82. Cant see spending tax, shipping, plus transfer from an instate dealer. |

Among C&R Makarovs the 9x18 East German is the best build, they generally have very smooth triggers, sights are small since the gun itself is small. The 9x18 Polish (Radom) PA64 has a very hard double action trigger, and a very light single action trigger, there are "unofficial" fixes available, mags are scarce. If you can find an excellent 7.62x25 CZ-52 (different than the CZ-82) those are a blast to shoot. Here is one example: CZ-52 at Czech Point USA If you like revolvers, there are lots but I don't own any C&R revolvers, nice .38 S&W Model 10s are available. There are plenty of 9mm P38s on the market now. On the CZ-82 I have read you can get away with using mags from the .380 CZ-83, I haven't done this myself yet. My rule of thumb is to buy as soon as distributors are blowing them out and buy lots of ammo. After the distributors sell out prices always go up. Have fun! |

I would go with a Cz-82, I bought mine from AIM. They are in great shape and very well built. I would say if you get one get some Wolf springs in there since its blow back op. sharp reciol.
I bought a Cz-52 at a place that was closing here about 6 years ago for $90. Fun as hell to shoot. Great deal but now they are up to used Glock prices. The problem I have with some of the C&R;s now is the prices are getting up to the point where they are almost in the same ball park as used modern firearms. I love mil surplus but 300 for a cz-52, or 369 for a used glock at Cabela's. I would say a must have is a 91/30 great prices. The 38's were almost the same price before they dried up. Now they go for 200 plus. Just keep an eye out on the top C&R sites. When a deal comes up jump on it! Like that same night don't think about it or poof they are sold out. I have thought about some and by the time i was ready to buy like the next day.... sold out. As they said above when the major guys are out prices spike, like Yugo SKS's. I picked one up in 2004 for 110 unissed looking now they want 300. my .02 |

I would go with the Tokarev. I've tried the Russian Makarov and I was not impressed. It was crude and rough on the finish. The Tokarev is a well made (some say a simplified 1903 by J Browning) and accurate pistol that shoots an awesome little round. The trigger pull is pretty nice and the feel in my hand is quite comfortable. i dont know about the others mentioned, but right now, the Tokarev is a great bargain.

CZ-82 and PA-64 are top choices. Both well made and designed..Generally you just can't go wrong with any CZ.
However should you pick up a CZ-52 be aware that they are known to have safety issues with the decocker failing resulting in a ND. As well as the roller cams are prone to peening and the firing pins are often brittle/untempered.. But you want to turn some heads shoot a CZ-52 on a indoor range..the fireball gets people's attention.... |
