I have RIA that went to Springfield, 7-29 barrel with a RIo marked bolt. Any of the blots on that chart from BIo down would be correct/ possible for RIA sent to Springfield. I think there was a NS RIA bolt with the ordnance bomb and 50 on it on Gunbroker the other day.

What is the serial #? Mine is 4262XX and a 9-28 SA barrel. I ran across it at a local shop. They had a "unsafe to fire" tag on it. I had just read the Canfield book about these rifles, he has a single paragraph on them. I got them down to $400, after all it's just a wall hanger. It appears correct except for the Rem bolt that was in it.

I'll start looking for a RIA bolt now that I know they are out there.

S/N 4173XX The RIA receivers that were sent to Springfield were assembled at random and will have a mixture of springfield and RIA parts and barrel dates. So it's possible they could have any part on them that was made close to the barrel date or before.
Some of the RIA receivers that went to Springfield Armory didn't have a S/N. They were given a Sprinfield S/N when they were assembled.

The only thing I have to add is that John Beard is a hell of a nice guy - total class act. He was extremely helpful and patient with me during my restoration of my Remington '03.

From what I have found there are four variations of these RIA/SA '03's

RIA marked receiver, RIA serial number and a RIA or SA barrel. This is the variation I have. Would like to find the other three.
RIA marked receiver, SA serial number and a RIA or SA barrel.
SA marked receiver with RIA serial number and SA or RIA barrel.
SA marked receiver with a SA serial number and RIA barrel.

About 25K of these were done. Most people just see them as a mismatched rifle and don't realize just how rare they are.

ETA: +1 on JB being a class act!
