Does anyone know what type of metal the HK MP5 A5 .22LR frame is made out of?

Aluminum?  Steel?

Zamak 3 is what most of them are made of.

I don't know about that one specifically, but most are Zamak.

Which is literally the technical name for a certain type of pot metal.

My NFA engraver is asking because he charges a different amount if he's engraving steel or aluminum.

It's a Zinc alloy.

All you need to know about it.

ZAMAK 3 &/or 7.

It is a very suitable material for the application. My MP5-A5 plinker has more than 3,000 rounds through it without significant problems and minimal cleaning.

If you don't want to spend $300 for a very cool .22LR MP5 plinker, fee free to spend several thousand for something else HK with a buttstock.
