So far on the list of choices I have,
Winchester 1890
Winchester 1906
Marlin model 39

Can anyone add to or expand on any guns?

Remington Model 12 - pump.  The most attractive pump .22 rifle ever made.

Savage model 25 and model 29 were made in that timeframe.

I have a store brand model 29 (it's marked Premier Trailblazer) and it is one of my favorites. So fun to shoot and very accurate.

I have my dad's Savage M29.  He traded a 2.5 hp outboard motor for it in 1962.  He said every now and then the buddy he traded with will call him up and ask him if he wants to trade back.

Octagonal barrel, accurate as hell, comes apart easy for cleaning.  There's an older model Savage, too.  Not sure what the model number is but I got dad one back in the late 70's at a pawnshop in Arlington, VA.
