I just bought a savage MKII f model (see post titled "best .22 rifle under 150$" my previous post). I took the rifle home and the safety takes more force to get it on the "fire" position and is stiff, but when putting the gun on "safe" it's super smooth and easy. Is this normal?

Thanks Collin

Normal. All 3 of my MKII action rifles are the same...

It does get a little easier with use, still, flipping the safety off is stiffer than bringing it back onto safe.

I bent the safety tension spring  on mine a bit to make it easier. You can pinch it with some needle nose just behind where it loops around the post on the side of the trigger housing.

I did the same. Real easy fix if you are mechanical.
