I have a SS Sparrow that I put on a Savage FVSR and a few .22 pistols and I'm looking for quite, but reliable and accurate ammo...

What Ammo are you using with your .22 cans???

I'm partial to CCI Standard velocity.

For pistols pretty much any bulk ammo will remain subsonic. For rifles any standard velocity or subsonic ammo will work, but the subsonic stuff usually won't cycle a semi-auto. Subsonic is definitely the quietest. I've heard it is the same amount of powder as a 22 short though, so expect simar ballostics.

CCI Standard velocity
Remington Subsonic. Crappy quality ammo, but I've killed a lot of pests with it.
PMC Subsonic. No longer made
Wolf Gold Match. Expensive, but good stuff

All of these function fine in Ruger 10/22s, Ruger MkII and Mk III, and of course bolt guns with acceptable accuracy with my Sparrows

CCI Standard Vel. for messing around.

CCI Sub-Sonic HPs for hunting.

Of the two the SV seems just a bit quieter.

I really like CCI SV

I recently tried Norma-tac and it was a little more accurate than the CCI.

American eagle suppressor ammo
Gemtech .22
Federal automatch
CCI standard velocity

In that order

But a lot more expensive.  That stuff is pricey.

My FVSR loves Winchester Super X subs. They consistently hold 1" groups at 100yds. I shoot Remington subs for plinking and save my Winchesters for squirrel hunting.

I always had good luck with Winchester Dynapoints in my pistols.

For competition shooting Eley Tenex, only because I know of a place where it's very cheap. $94.50 per 500.
Noise is an issue at my club's range so suppressors are mandatory on rapid fire competitions.

Hunting, Eley or CCI Subsonic.

I have a couple K of Gemtech subs and around 8k of CCI segmented HP subs. Until the CCI segmented came out I essentially ran only CCI green tag.

Whatever the hell I can find, including Aguila . In a perfect world I'd shoot nothing but CCI standard velocity and CCI subsonic.

I've been given a couple boxes of Ely sub sonic hp. How will they perform out of a 7.5" ar non suppressed?

Mine three. Both the cci and particularly the Gemtech are cleaner than others I've run. I don't dip, so I hate scraping that junk out of the clamshells.

Where are you guys finding subsonic 22 to begin with?

eta. on that note, just noticed Midway has CCI Quiet in stock, 500 round box for $29.49, 2 maximum order.

Just in time for my thread adapter to show up for my Mossad Beretta 71.

Was running scary low on Rem subs and Gemtech subs.

Earlier when I went and looked at the above on my phone the pic showed a 50 rnd box, so I commented on it saying I wasn't sure that was right, then after I saw it was indeed a 500 box, I went back and corrected my comment...

Ordered two boxes...  Thanks for the tip!!!

CCI Standard Velocity here as well.  Of the many types of subsonics I've used w/ my cans over the years, this has always been the most reliable and accurate without costing a fortune.  A couple out of every hundred or so rounds seem to have a significantly smaller charge and drop like a rock but I'm not shooting competitions with it so I can tolerate that.  Through my Gemtech Outback 2 and AAC Prodigy it is stupid quiet stuff.  This is the ammo I use when we have our 200 yard rimfire fun every summer.  Like most CCI ammo, it's good stuff.

I'm finding the quiet stuff I just ordered is barely cycling my beretta 71, short stroking quite a bit.

It doesn't cycle my SR22 at all...it's perfect for me out of my RAR out to about 100 yards max, after that it plummets to crap.

Yeah CCI Quiet is great for shots out to 50yrds then its like lobbing artillery in lol, makes it fun though.  I love the stuff out of my bolt actions but it will not cycle any of my semi's.  Very quiet though!

PMC (as far as I know) never made ammo but imported and relabeled stuff by others . Their rimfire stuff was actually Aguilla , made in Mexico.

I have not seen much of that around but if you liked the PMC it is something else to keep an eye out for

My .22AR will cycle the Quiet pretty reliably suppressed.
It's a CMMG kit with a Spikes 16in barrel

It will not cycle in my GSG 1911 or my 10/22
I love the stuff for quiet disposal of  back yard pests
