I want to add a folding stock to my Ruger.  I'd like one with a pistol grip but would love to see all the choices.  I've researched the Butler Creek one but I'm unclear if it is discontinued or not?

What are my choices?  If you have a folding stock for this rifle please tell me about your experience with it. If you can add a picture of the folding stock, all the better.

Ruger 10/22 folding stocks , go!

Butler Creek are still made in back and stainless.
Underfold stocks 10-22 underfolder
Choate folding stock
ATI folding stock.
AGP Arms Folder.

There are a few more out there as well.

Thanks.

Does anyone have any pictures of their rifles with folders on them that they are proud of?

G36 kit, with C front end, SBR'd and suppressed, OAL is 19 inches when folded.

Ramline also used to make 10/22 folding stocks.  No idea if they still do.  There's used an AR-15 pattern pistol grip mount.  As such, grip swaps were possible.

Best of luck with whatever you decide to pursue.

I love my Butler Creek Liberty Model. I'll warn you though. Some rifles will rock fore and aft in these stocks. Meaning the rounded hump of the receiver will move up and down in the stock. There is a fix for it. I think when the stock comes out of the mold it can warp slightly or possible with time as the middle section around the mag well is very thing.

If you have this issue... with an empty stock, no barreled action in place, side folder extended, place the butt pad on the ground between your feet. Press the forearm in towards your body while pushing the receiver section away from you. It will flex in the thin area around the mag well. Be gentle but firm. I might have done it...1....2... 3 times than reassemble. It fixed it and has not returned.

My BC side folder was old new stock from Ebay for less than $100. I got one at Cabela's  for instant gratification but they charge $144. It went back. The checkering is much sharper on my older one. I guess the molds are worn down for current ones.

The AGP makes for a great backpack weapon.

Long ago the cadillac folder was the Falcon Feather. It's folding mechanism was patterned almost exactly after the factory Mini 14 folder. It was very well made and fitted.
I imagine they stopped manufacture because the unit was expensive to build. I obtained this one in the early 80's and still have it.

As appears to have pretty much been the history of the Nordic slide in-out collapsible stock for the dedicated .22 cal AR-15.

The old Ramline 10/22 folder was essentially a plastic version of the Falcon Feather or vice versa.

I have the Walnut Ramline folder too. Ebay is the only source, and you'll pay for it. But it sure is nice. My pics don't do it justice.

I have the ATI Strikeforce Stock on my 10/22 ITAC.

For the most part, I don't mind it.  The stock is very bulky and some what of a pain to breakdown for cleaning.  I enjoy the length of pull adjustments and the pistol grip is confortable.  The extension tube and rail pieces are plastic, but ATI offers metal upgrades.  The extension tube is a commercial one.  The stock is pretty tight and is very accruate with my red dot sight.  My friend owns the same rifle and uses a scope.  It groups really good for him and his son.

ATI customer services was awesome.  I had to make calls to Ruger, TALO and then ATI to replace my buttstock.  Whoever installed the cheek riser stripped the threads on the screws and cracked the riser.  After a few emails with ATI I had the correct ruger branded stock sent to me free of charge.  Then didn't want the old one back.

Overall its a good plinker with a factory thread barrel.  I've been using it as my suppressor host and new shooter trainer.

I would kill for one of those.   I've been looking for nearly 10 years and never seen one for sale.

We are going to bring back the Para stock, but I think it will be late this year to early next and you still have to source the rear butler creek folding portion.

I've been watching your site for nearly three years, wanting to buy one, and I've never seen them in stock.   I emailed you guys a little over a year ago (october 2013) and was told that you would have a small batch coming up perhaps as soon as that weekend.   Never saw them available on the site.

Will there be a waiting list or anyway to ensure that somebody can get one, if you ever do another run?

We like the Para stock too, but we have been out of manufacturing capacity to make more.  We are getting ready to expand with new machines and procedures, so we can make the Para and other stocks but we have to make sure our accuracy and efficiency are in line before we bring it back.

Once we get the Para back in production after the expansion we will  not have an issue with waiting times-in theory.

Consider making a two-piece TD version as well.  I don't own a TD, but I would consider getting one if there was a classy stock for it.  Best of luck, in any case.

You could make a version that accepts ACE components. Then you would sell lots of them. In fact, it would be easier to make than the current version.
