Are these magazines worth the extra cost?

I don't really shoot my 10/22 that often but want quality mags stashed away for a rainy day. Is there a better mag for the money?

CDNN has them for $19.99

For the price they are easily the best buy. They are great mags that you can take apart to clean/service.

TI-25 mags from Tactical Innovations are regarded as the best mags, but they are expensive

They are the best I've used, and I would say best in their price range, but I've never used the high end all aluminum ones and such. But I've used friends butler creek and promag and they were trash basically. I don't think anyone could be disappointed with bx-25's

The two I have work great.  You may find some other brands of 25 round mags, but the Rugers seem to always work best with Ruger OEM mags.

Yep, they are awsome. Much better that the butler creeks and others. You can also disassemble them for cleaning/maintenance if needed. As mentioned previously, wait till they go on sale for around 20 bucks. Thats when i bought mine.

I've only bought one and it sucks.
Feed lips sit to high. I need to file it down some time, but mostly it has been thrown into a corner on the workbench and forgotten.
Kinda reluctant to buy another.
YMMV

If you want a 25-rounder, Ruger OEM is the way to go. Most problems reported by people are due to user error such as gripping the magazine with the support hand, or rocking the magazine back before shooting.

The real question is do you need a 25-rounder? The 10-round mags are dead-nuts reliable, and I don't see any zombies around.

Bought 1 when they first were available, threw it in my 22 box. Forgot about it.

The other day decided to try it, so in went some CCI MM HP would not feed caught the nose on the ramp of the mag jammed every 3 shots.

Getting ready to make a target out of it, soI took it apart and looked inside. The thing is really well made WTF!

Put it back together and loaded up with CCI MM solids runs like a champ, tried fed 510s and Automatch no issue.

Mine does not like the profile of the CCI MM HP catches the nose and bends the bullet bolt stops dead.

YMMV but mine is bullet fussy and I will still get a few more if ammo ever shows again

What's with the question about need? That sounds like a liberal anti-gunner question. Defining need is a slippery slope. Do you really need anything?

He wants a 25 rounder and that's all that really matters.

Over the years I have tried many extended mags for the 10/22.  I have had some good luck with some of them.  The Ruger mags are my favorite now.  Aside from working very well another big point for me is the loading.  I can load the entire mag without discomfort.  The feed lips are not sharp and don't dig into my thumb as I push the round in.  Even the last round is not hard to push down.  I don't need any special loading tools for these.

Have 6 of them.
Never a failure.
I run cc i blazer bulk so they get gummed up a lot, use a key to scrap the feed lips clean and run them.
