You can start HERE .  FYI, ignore the "GSG 5" listings that have the "HK MP5" wording in them.  GSG is a different gun and manufacturer.  The "HK MP5 22" is only LICENSED by HK, manufactured in Germany by Carl Walther, and imported by Umarex.

Actually, the GSG is German, the H&K is manufactured by Umarex, the airsoft division of Walther, and imported by Walther.  Also, H&K has no rights to license anything concerning the MP-5, as they sold ALL of the rights to said firearm, to the Turkish government almost 10 years ago.  H&K is facing lawsuits over the wrongful lawsuits they filed against companies, including GSG, for so called rights, and patents infringements, and the final trade dress infringement that the companies they went after finally settled on, out of court.  H&K has no chance of winning, GSG alone is going after them for $16 million, in legal fees, damages, and lost revenues, H&K cannot afford this kind of problem, they are already borderline bankrupt...

I picked up what was suppossed to be the Umarex A2 stock for my HK mp5 22 today but am having a problem. Is there a secret to installing this thing?  CAn someone who has one verify some marking?  On the right side..non sling mount side..there is a small square box with '3IJ' in it and a nother on the butt plate with ' 2IJ' in it. Any help would be appreciated.

Mine came in a plain brown cardboard box with the HK label on one end; it should be item #578.108.  There are no markings on mine anywhere and it slides right on although the take down pin is a bit tight.  I got it from HK Specialist for $45.  No affiliation, just the cheapest I found it.

Has anyone put a foregrip with a light on theirs- I've heard that one off an airsoft will work and I've also heard that it won't.  This is a range toy so I don't need a $500 Surefire assembly.

Still pretty accurate after cutting the barrel down to 8". Need to adjust my sights though...

ETA: 5 shot group at about 15 yards, unsupported with irons.

The airsoft world has companies that are true to spec and others that are not. You looking for a replica of the MP5 Surefire handguard?

Here is my final SBR. The rail needed some minor drimel work, but ended up fine. It was a cheap rail off of amazon. Sorry I cant remember the company, but I think it was about 20 to 30 bucks. The light was a cheapo from Wally world. I also had to resight mine in. But damn it still is accurate. With my suppressor it is stupid quite. absolutely love this thing....

I think this thread is going to sell me on getting an HK to replace my GSG. I haven't shot that thing in nearly 1 1/2 years.

In ~40,000 rounds, I have broken the bolt three times, had COUNTLESS failures, and the thing is just not accurate. I want to like it, but it is a piece of crap.

Does anyone have that kind of round count through the HK to know if failures crop up at +20,000?

I've been trying to get a barrel from Umarex for months with no luck, every time I call its the same " they'll be in stock in 2-4 weeks". Sent my barrel to Mark @trosusa today to cut and thread it. Was $88 with return shipping. Buddy had Mark do his PS90, nothing but good things to say about it. Don't expect it back until end of Nov, beginning of Dec, I'll post it up once I get it back.

Noticed this weekend that the bolt wouldn't always lock back on the last round fired. Other than that it feeds and fires reliably. Recoil spring adjustment is backed out all the way. I might cut a turn or two off of the recoil spring to see if it helps.

With .22 LR being such dirty ammo, this really doesn't surprise me much. I like the recoil spring fix idea. Let us know how it works. I know this is getting OT here, but I'm assuming the STG-44 .22 operating system is pretty similar. Does anyone have both? I know I WANT both. If I can sell enough books, that's something I definitely want to do. Should have the proof copies back today or tomorrow. I ask because I almost put STG-44's in the book, but stuck with SMGs for Kessler's men.
