THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Which would better suit me for general shooting and target shooting from 25 to 100 yards ? I also have the Boyd's tacitcool stock and the factory sight base so was wondering what rings I would need for each scope? |

do you know what kind of base you're running? Most low sized rings should work for the scopes you have listed. I am a big fan of the Warne Maxima's. They are fairly priced ($30.00), and are of decent quality.
ETA - for shooting down in the shorter ranges, having an AO (adjustable objective) helps tremendously. The Mueller's are great scopes for the money. My vote is for the Mueller, more magnification, AO capability, and a great lifetime guarantee. |

I just seen were you have the factory rail that comes on the FV-SR , that is a EGW Zero MOA Mount. I have the 20 MOA mount on mine, you will be fine with low rings But to be sure this is how i do it Measure the outside diameter of your scope's objective, then divide by that by two. Super Sniper 10x42 has an O.D. of 50mm. 50/2=25mm (.98") This will be the dimension above which the ring and bases combined will need to raise the scope's centerline to clear a barrel that is the same diameter as the action.. Once you have that key dimension, all you need to do is select a base and ring combination that equals that dimension plus 3mm-5mm to accommodate lens covers. 25mm+3mm=28mm (1.10") Figure out how thick the base is. IE: Badger Ordnance Remington 700 base is 7mm thick. 28mm-7mm=21mm (.82") |
