Thanks. And yes, I hope this weather sticks around for a while before it gets much colder. Seems like every year it goes from 105 degrees to 70 degrees with only a few weeks of the nice stuff in between.

Because 70 is SOOOOOOO cold

Just noticed there is an FV-SR on the EE in the Rimfire only section, granted it's a little overpriced at $265shipped/$250ftf. I think I paid like $245shipped/ffl.

Does anybody have info on velocities out of the 16.5" barrels vs mfg published velocities?

What free online calculators are y'all using for max pbr zeros of various loads? I'm about to re zero for a squirrel hunt coming up. I think I'll be using CCI mini mag 40gr solids out of my 16.5 mk2. I just need zero +\- 1in out to about 60-70 yds. I used to zero around 62 yds I think but it's been a few years.

I posted the chrono results of two CCI subsonic loads on the last page. I haven't run supersonics or hypersonics through the FV-SR if that's what you're asking?

CCI Std Velocity
Yards __MOA drop
__25____ 0
__50____ 1.25
__75____ 4.5
__100___ 8

This is what I got while at the range about 2mo ago with CCI SV. I did shoot some minimags but didn't record their drop since they didn't group as well and aren't as good for suppressed shooting. If I remember correctly though, they were about 1/2" higher at 25yd.

I hope they follow thru with the orders, I paid for mine on the morning of the 18th and I haven't heard anything yet. I looked at the status and it shows "processing at the warehouse". I've never ordered a firearm from them, maybe they're just that slow.

They're usually very fast, but I'm sure they've had huge increases in sales volume since BO's statements at the debate last week, which is likely slowing things down.

My weekends pickup

I went for the Savage FV heavy barrel for using CCI quiets in my backyard. It took my local shop 5 weeks to get it to me but they gave me a 10 round mag for free so I guess that's OK. I got her for $230 otd and added a 3-9x 50 and bipod. A great little shooter and I am digging the accutrigger. The Rhineland Leopard stock is on my Christmas list.

I didn't see your post. 37 pages are alot too wade through

So you were getting 1040 for these 2 loads?
http://www.cci-ammunition.com/products/detail.aspx?use=1&loadNo=0074
http://www.cci-ammunition.com/products/detail.aspx?use=1&loadNo=0056

They're published velocity is 1050, so that's pretty freaking close out of the 16.5" barrell.

Thanks!

Yes sir, those are them. CCI is very good with consistency and quality control. I was pleased that the averaged numbers came in so close to the advertised velocities. I wonder if they were testing out of an 18" barrel? That would make sense. Either way, I've tested all aspects of those two loads, and I'm very happy with the sound, range, accuracy, consistency, and their performance on game and pests. Not all my semi autos will cycle them reliably, but for a bolt gun, you can't go wrong.

I called CTD yesterday on my order, since I hadn't recieved any update. They where nice enough on the phone, told me that it had shipped the same day I ordered it, the 18th. I asked why I hadn't recieved an e-mail with the tracking number, she apologized and said she'd look into it. I asked her for the number, she said she didn't have that info, but if it shipped on the 18th it should already be at my FFL. I told her that was fine, and that I'd call the FFL the following day. An hour after I hung up with her I recieved an e-mail, with a tracking number, that was just shipping on the 22nd, Fed-Ex has it arriving on the 25th. I guess at least I now know when it will really arrive. Oh well, the price was worth the wait, and I still need my optic, stock, and msc. bits & pieces.

ok i know this is the semi auto brother to the bolt action but its just about the same gun. how are the triggers on your guns ? i have alot of take up on mine i stoned the sear and seem to help with the break i would just like to get rid of the take up and the little wobble i have on mine. the trigger groups look like they should just swap right out. here are some pics bought the gemtech the same day, i then painted the stock for no other reason then being bored

The accutriggers on mine are a huge improvement over the old stock non adjustable ones but I too am less than thrilled with them. My wood stocked 17HMR that is in the pic a couple post up has a Rifle Basics trigger and it is very light, has MUCH more creep than I like and WAY better than an Accutrigger.
